India vs Australia, 6th ODI: Australia Clinch One-Day Series after beating India by 6 wickets (AUS-IND: 4-2|7)November 8, 2009 After winning the toss and electing to bat, India received a big blow when Johnson took the wickets of both Sehwag and Gambhir in the very first over. The tumble of wickets continued in quick succession, thanks to an excellent performance by Bollinger (10-4-35-5). After 9 overs, India were 27/5 and it seemed like the Indian team may not be able to get their score into triple digits. But Ravindra Jadeja (57) and Praveen Kumar (54) withstood the Australian attack and took India to a somewhat respectable score of 170.
The Indian bowlers did not succeed in taking wickets like their Australian counterparts. The first wicket came in the 5th over when Marsh was lbw to Patel. Watson was the top-scorer for the Aussies with 49 runs. Hussey contributed 35 runs and Ponting and White both made 25 runs each.
